1. The sustainable compounds

The scope was to communicate two compounds from Vibram with strong sustainability characteristics: Vibram Ecostep and Vibram N-OIL. In 1994, Vibram launched Vibram Ecostep, the first pioneering eco-compound composed of over 30% recycled rubber derived from production waste. vibram N-OIL compound is the Italian company's solution to offer a green alternative in the footwear world: the rubber is made of more than 90% natural materials, without sacrificing Vibram standards in terms of quality, grip and performance.
The objective was to communicate with two strong visuals the peculiarities that make the two Vibram compounds sustainable and created with respect for nature and the environment around us underlining the company's commitment to sustainability since 1994, before it was a trend.
2. Concept

Our primary focus was to effectively convey the company's unwavering dedication to sustainability. In order to highlight the ethical values embodied by the two exceptional compounds, we embarked on a visual journey, representing the very elements that form their essence.

Drawing inspiration from the essence of Vibram's iconic "Carroarmato" sole, we ingeniously composed the visuals by seamlessly blending the two crucial elements required to create these sustainable compounds. This artistic fusion not only mirrors the harmony between nature and innovation but also pays homage to the brand's most iconic symbol.
Through these thoughtfully crafted compositions, we intended to underscore Vibram's profound commitment to environmental responsibility and ethical practices. Each visual serves as a powerful testament to the harmonious integration of sustainable values within the brand's DNA. With a compelling blend of creativity and purpose, we bring to life Vibram's dedication to crafting products that honor nature, resonate with ethical consciousness, and proudly bear the mark of the iconic "Carroarmato" sole.
3. Ecostep compound

For the Ecostep visual we have chosen to represent the elements used in its creation. These elements include waste burrs and excess rubber from other processes. We shot the individual elements in the studio and then isolated them. In this composition, we used this particularity to give shape to the sole, using the waste rubber in all its parts.
4. N-OIL compound

For the visual of N-OIL, we would highlight the fact that the compound is made entirely from natural ingredients. Even the colour of the sole is given by the combination of various pigments found in nature and not by chemical paints. To create this visual, we shot the individual elements that make up the compound in the studio. We wanted to emphasise the natural origin of the rubber by including a tree with a white ridge in the composition. The heel, just like the toe, is made up of the various pigments used in N-OIL's colouring.
5. Copywriting

Our foremost objective was to underscore the vital components that constitute the Italian company's sustainable compounds. We decided to weave the wordplay of "sole," which phonetically echoes the word "soul."

By cleverly intertwining these two words, we sought to convey a profound message: sustainability and the cherished values it represents are not merely a superficial aspect, but an intrinsic part of our very soul. These deeply ingrained principles have been the driving force behind the creation of the compounds for the two exceptional soles.

This powerful play on words serves as a poignant reminder that sustainability is not just a fleeting trend but an enduring commitment that resonates with the essence of our being. The very soul of our brand is intertwined with these core values, propelling us to craft compounds that not only tread lightly on the planet but also embody the ethical essence that defines our identity.
The Ecostep visual, unlike the N-OIL one, was never released.
